Long term and professional enrolment of children in the system of Bratislava art schools has always maintained a strong position of education in the arts. Therefore, the city has a background in discovering talents, new and hungry artistic ensembles and groups who want to succeed...

It is possible to sum up in a single breath what awaits us just now in Bratislava and Vienna: we can anticipate some excellent events and fantastic city culture! You should already start planning where you would like to go so that you don’t miss something. Let’s start with October: there is still time for the 22nd Biennial of Illustration Bratislava, which once again creates a special island of art for children. In November we can look forward to the Bratislava Music Festival (BHS), the largest celebration of classical music in the Slovak capital and a truly rich feast for music connoisseurs.

Active relaxation, summer love, evening strolls, and both the usual and less familiar festivals and good events. Let‘s have a look at the time when sweet inaction is combined with pleasant experiences. From jazz, folk, folklore, country, world and ethno music to classical music and drama performances for children and adults. This is what you will find during summer in Bratislava, entertainment for natives and visitors in July and August as well as in September.

Dear friends, we all know this: the arrival of spring has an incredibly strong impact. People all over the world are stimulated by the feeling that spring is in the air. April is certainly a breath of fresh air, for many people it is not only something personal. They also experience it through the cultural scene of the city. Bratislava has its own special historical relationship with April, and these days it has a specific link to April. That’s why The Day of Bratislava, or the Bratislava Weekend of Open Doors, traditionally takes place this month.

Dear friends, I am very glad that together we can launch what is now the fourth year of Twin City Journal. The original idea that combined two capital cities through a common media space back in 2005 has found its supporters on both sides of the border.
