The term dimensions represents three main layers of sound:frame:

- The screen functions as a two-dimensional projection surface and is virtually extended to the third dimension through visual art.

- Three-dimensional space per se, acts as home ground and container for artistic action, actors, audience and resulting atmosphere, as well as sculptural object in space that acts as three-dimensional canvas.

- Finally, time, in which music and film move about.

As usual, the events of sound:frame 2010 involve exhibitions, live events, performances, symposia and workshops. Fitting the theme of dimensions, the sound:frame exhibition 2010 will, for the first time, expand to different exhibition areas in Vienna, as well as public urban space, as opposed to concentrating on one location. Small galleries and new venues provide an exceptional audio:visual and spatial experience. Also, there’s going to be a top-grade line-up of international artist from both the visual and music community that will again provide an exciting and innovative party experience. The sound:frame festival is a platform that encourages an international discourse about art by providing the necessary theoretic framework. dimensions will make the sound:frame festival 2010 a unique festival experience, in terms of form, content and artistic value.
